The spot is part of a mountain crest located at about 1,400 metres above sea level which hosts vast high mountain meadows, a few water springs and some small swamps. It stretches from Sant Pere pass, overlooking the village of Sentís (Sarroca de Bellera, Pallars Jussà), to Art pass, near the village of Perves (El Pont de Suert, Alta Ribagorça), near Prat d’Hort hill, the most emblematic summit in the region.

With its 119 hectares, it is considerably larger than most microreserves. It is characterised by the presence of Dactylorhiza incarnate orchid –very common in the basic swamps–, by Caricion davallianae from the Pre-Pyrenees, as well as by butterflies, dragonflies and orthopters.

The raised funds were aimed at the conservation of the small swamps and at the monitoring of local biodiversity.
